Pace Pulse Privacy Policy
In short: Pace Pulse collects no personal data. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no internet access. Your workouts stay on your device.
What the app stores
To show your history, streaks and badges, Pace Pulse saves the following only on your device:
- Completed workouts: plan name, start and end time, minutes walked, rounds completed and your optional effort rating.
- If you turn on Count steps & pace: the steps you take and your pace (steps per minute) during each workout. Steps are only counted while a workout is running.
- Custom workout plans you create.
- Your settings, such as voice and sound choices, weekly goal and reminder time.
- If you enter them during setup: your first name (only to greet you) and your age (to suggest a starting level).
- The result of your latest pace check: your steps per minute at an easy, normal and brisk pace, and the fast-walk target it set.
This data is never sent to us or to anyone else. The app does not request the internet permission, so it cannot transmit data.
Heart rate on Wear OS watches
If you turn on Show heart rate in the watch app, Pace Pulse reads your watch's heart-rate sensor only while a workout is running, shows it on the watch with an effort zone, and shows your average and highest heart rate when you finish. Heart-rate readings are never saved and never shared with other apps or anyone else. Two numbers are kept, only on the watch, to make the effort zones personal: your age, if you enter it, and your resting heart rate, if you measure it with the one-minute rest before a pace check. Turn the setting off at any time to stop.
What the app does not collect
No location, no steps outside your workouts, no stored heart rate or other health sensor data, no contacts, no device identifiers, no advertising ID, and no crash or usage analytics.
Device backup
If you have turned on Android's backup, your workout history and settings are included in your own device backup (for example, your Google account backup) so you keep your streak on a new phone. That backup is managed by Android under your account, not by us. You can turn it off in your phone's settings. The watch app is never included in any backup or transfer, so your age and resting heart rate stay on the watch.
Export files
If you use Settings → Privacy → Export workouts to a file, Pace Pulse writes your workout history and custom plans to a file in the place you choose. That file is yours: we never see it, and it goes only where you put or send it. Pace Pulse reads such a file only when you choose Restore from a backup file.
Permissions
- Notifications: show the running timer with pause, skip and end controls, and the optional daily reminder.
- Foreground service: keep the timer and cues running while the screen is off.
- Vibration: haptic cues when a phase changes.
- Wake lock: keep cues on time while a workout is running. It is released when the workout pauses or ends.
- Physical activity (optional): only requested if you turn on step counting, so the phone's or watch's step sensor can count steps during workouts. You can turn it off at any time.
- Heart rate / body sensors (optional, watch only): only requested if you turn on heart rate, so the watch can read your pulse during workouts. You can turn it off at any time.
Voice guidance
Spoken cues use the text-to-speech engine already installed on your device. Pace Pulse only selects voices that work offline.
Deleting your data
Open Settings → Privacy → Delete all workout history, or uninstall the app. Both remove everything Pace Pulse stored.
Children
Pace Pulse is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
